“LaLiga Golazos” NFT Platform Set To Arrive On October 27
As per a press release, LaLiga and Dapper Labs have now revealed the name of their upcoming digital collectible platform, “LaLiga Golazos.”
LaLiga is the topmost soccer division in Spain, hosting legendary teams like Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. The league is currently ranked number 2 in Europe according to UEFA rankings.
The LaLiga Golazos NFTs will include video collectibles (called “Moments”) of the most famous plays from the soccer clubs that have been part of the league since the 2005-2006 season.
The platform will also have new Moment drops from each matchday in the current 2022-23 season. Fans will be able to experience all these collectibles in both English and Spanish, according to the announcement.
“LaLiga Golazos allows fans to own and collect LaLiga plays and moments from 2005-present,” commented Óscar Mayo, Executive Director at LaLiga.
“We are constantly innovating new ways to bring LaLiga, its Clubs, and Players closer to our fans and with our partner, industry-leader Dapper Labs, we can give them the ability to truly be a part of this fanatical experience.”
Dapper Labs, the company behind other famous sport collectibles like NBA Top Shot, is handling the development side of the LaLiga Golazos platform.
A closed beta of the NFT platform is set to go live on the 27th of this month, and the first collection will also drop on the same day.
Plays from the most iconic rivalries in soccer history such as El Clásico and the Madrid Derby will be featured in the initial NFTs.
“We are excited to partner with LaLiga to provide global football fans with a digital collectible experience that is designed to match their passion for the game,” said Jorge Urrutia del Pozo, General Manager of LaLiga Golazos for Dapper Labs.
“LaLiga Golazos will enable fans to own a piece of LaLiga history and participate in a whole new kind of football community that recognizes and rewards them for their fandom.”
