CryptoSlate Daily wMarket Update – Oct. 18: Re-surging TRON holds steady as other large caps see losses

The cryptocurrency market cap saw net outflows of $12.64 billion since the last wMarket report. As of press time, the total crypto market cap stood at $923.66 billion, down 1.3% over the last 24 hours.

Bitcoin’s market cap fell 2.5% over the reporting period to $369.10 billion from $375.58 billion. Meanwhile, Ethereum’s market cap decreased by 2.6% to $159.18 billion from $163.35 billion.

The top 10 cryptocurrencies all posted losses over the last 24 hours. The exception was Tron, which recently ousted Shiba Inu from the list. TRX saw a marginal gain of 0.03%. Meanwhile, Cardano is the biggest loser of the past day, falling 3.69%.

The market caps of Tether (USDT) and BinanceUSD (BUSD) remained flat over the last 24 hours at $68.4 billion and $21.6 billion, respectively. Meanwhile, USD Coin’s (USDC) market cap sees a decrease of $0.1 billion to $44.55 billion.

Bitcoin

Over the last 24 hours, Bitcoin fell 1.7% to trade at $19,240 as of press time. Its market dominance fell slightly to 39.91% from 40.1% over the reporting period.

The leading cryptocurrency topped out at $19,700 at Tuesday lunchtime. Since then, a spill in price found support at $19,090. The ensuing bounce peaked at $19,400, leading to a gradual downtrend.

General weakness in the structure suggests a retest of the local $19,090 bottom is imminent.

Ethereum

Ethereum’s price fell by 2.7% to trade at $1,298 as of press time. Its market dominance decreased slightly to 17.2% from 17.4%.

Over the reporting period, the second-largest cryptocurrency matched BTC’s price movements. Bottoming at $1,286 on Tuesday evening, ETH went on to hit a local high of $1,320 before trending downwards.

LYXe is today’s top gainer, growing 29% over the reporting period to trade at $6.32358 as of press time. The multiverse blockchain rose 39% over the last 30 days. Its market cap stood at $96.16 million.

DESO grew 18% over the reporting period to trade at $17.3507 as of press time. The social network platform has experienced extreme volatility of late but is still up 162% over the past month. Its market cap stood at $154.15 million.

REEF rose 6% over the past day to trade at $1.16986 at the time of publishing. The liquidity protocol continues its resurgence, growing 56% over the last 30 days. Its market cap stood at $148.34 million.

FRTS gained 5% over the reporting period, trading at $0.01091 as of press time. The charity protocol continues to flip between the top gainers and losers. Its market cap stood at $229.75 million.

JUST

JST gained 4% over the last 24 hours to trade at $0.02937 as of press time. Its market cap stood at $261.43 million.
