Not one but two high-profile wallet providers have caused a stir within the SHIB army ahead of the beta launch of Shibarium, the layer 2 network of Shiba Inu. While the Exodus wallet team hinted at an integration with Shibarium, a new feature from MetaMask is causing a stir as it could massively benefit the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
Exodus Wallet Checks Shibarium Integration
One of the oldest non-custodial crypto wallets, Exodus, has announced via Twitter that it has “logged” Shiba Inu’s upcoming layer 2 network with its asset team. A SHIB community member requested the wallet provider via Twitter to integrate Shibarium.
In response, the Exodus team did not explicitly confirm its willingness to support the network, but noted that the request had been forwarded to the relevant department. In addition, the Exodus team revealed that the Shiba Inu community could be in for a “delightful surprise” in the future:
Thanks for your request! Shibarium has been logged with our assets team. We cannot make any promises, but you never know what delightful surprises could be in store for you. – BT
In addition, Exodus’ Twitter account suggested an alternative way for SHIB army to add Shibarium’s ERC20-based tokens to their Exodus wallets themselves. Pointing to a detailed guide, Exodus wrote: “I also wanted to let y’all know that you can add Shibarium as a custom ERC20 token in Exodus. Here’s how […] Fingers crossed for full support down the road.”
Should Exodus declare support for Shibarium, it would join a growing list of multiple platforms. Atomic Wallet and hardware wallet manufacturer Ledger are two other industry giants that have already announced their support.
Shiba Inu Lead Dev Points Out Groundbreaking Feature
In the other news for Shiba Inu, chief developer Shytoshi Kusama drew attention to the launch of the MetaMask SDK, which was launched in the Unity Asset Store. Kusama retweeted the announcement with an exclamation point, without giving any further explanation.

As announced by the MeatMask team, the SDK will allow developers to connect their games to a wallet so that users can interact with Web3-enabled features in the game itself. In general, this move is expected to take gameplay to a whole new level and bring Web3 value to the gaming industry – something that the Shiba Inu ecosystem could massively benefit from.
Even though the SHIB community responded enthusiastically, frustration is slowly rising over the delayed launch of Shibarium. One user wrote, “That’s great!!! Means nothing until Shibarium is actually released. So put the docs out and RELEASE IT!!!”
Despite recurring rumors about a “soon” launch of Shibarium, there is still no firm launch date for the beta version.
At press time, SHIB was trading at $0.00001241 and has thus bounced up from the $0.000012 support.
